is a third-person shooter handheld game
developed for Sony's PlayStation Portable.
It was announced on July 15, 2008
at Sony's E3
press conference and released on March 12, 2009 in Japan, March 13,
2009 in Europe, and March 17, 2009 in North America. Sony Bend said in
an interview with GameSpot that they worked with
Insomniac Games in the initial process of the game design. Retribution follows the story of British Royal Marine James Grayson in the weeks following the destruction of the Chimeran tower in London at the end of Resistance: Fall of Man. After being forced to kill his brother Jonny inside a Chimeran conversion centre, James suffers a violent nervous breakdown, attacks his fellow officers and is imprisoned, awaiting execution for desertion of the Armed Forces. The European resistance – the Maquis – enlist Grayson's help, and he joins Cartwright and Parker in Operation Overstrike to retake the European continent from the Chimera. Grayson immediately embarks on a vendetta to eliminate every conversion centre he can find to avenge his brother. He plans to destroy the Chimeran Tower once they have eliminated every conversion centres. However, he learns that the Chimera have evolved a new method of converting humans in Western Europe. Resistance: Retribution features 8-player Online Multiplayer, via infrastructure. The game offers 8-player matches with modes that include Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Containment and Assimilation. The aiming system is designed differently, instead of pressing buttons to lock against cover, it will automatically lock the player to cover when he or she goes near cover. Aim assist, as observed in Resistance: Fall Of Man, is also present in Retribution. Retribution and features new characters and weapons, as well as a non-replenishing life bar. On October 9th 2008, it was announced that players with a copy of Resistance 2 in their Playstation 3, while having their PSP 2000 or 3000 connected via AV output to the television, will be able to play Resistance: Retribution with a DualShock 3 controller. This is a new, cross-link feature of both games dubbed PSP Plus. While PSP Plus is enabled, it has been reported that aim assist will be disabled and that players would be able to remap their controls to better use the extra inputs on the Playstation 3 controller. DualShock 3 rumble will also be supported. |

Civilization Revolution (full title: Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution) is a 2008 iteration of Civilization developed by Firaxis with Sid Meier as designer for the Nintendo DS, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles. Sid Meier was enthusiastic about this installment, being quoted in both the press release and trailer as saying, "This is the game I've always wanted to make." A demo was released on Xbox Live Marketplace and the North American PlayStation Store on June 5, 2008. The demo allows players to play until 1250 AD on a fixed map as Cleopatra or Julius Caesar, and also allows multiplayer play. |

Civilization Revolution is a turn based strategy game. In past installments the player had more control over the rules of the game and often the game could last for more than ten hours. In Civilization Revolution the games for the most part can be finished within three hours. For the console version, the gameplay has been streamlined and simplified to make the game easier to play for newcomers to the series. In addition to naming cities, players are randomly allowed to name a geographical feature such as a mountain range, plains, or rivers. A victory can be achieved in four different ways. Unless specified/defined in a scenario all four victory conditions are open to be used. Different civilizations have distinct advantages over others depending on their "bonuses".
If the player's civilization is nearing one of the above mentioned victory conditions, all other civilizations will declare war on them in an attempt to delay or stop them from winning. The construction of the World Bank, the construction of the United Nations, and the launching of the ship to Alpha Centauri can all be stopped by capturing the enemy's capital/palace. |

Universe at War: Earth Assault, is intended to
be the first game in a planned series of games to be called the Universe
at War series. The game is something of a celebration of the history of science fiction, using a number of recognizably archaic plot elements that were the bread and butter of pulp scifi, and with references to modern and past scifi. The Hierarchy is a slavering horde of b-movie invaders with circular flying saucers, walkers in the style of Spielberg's 2005 War of the Worlds and foo fighters. The Masari are the ancient astronauts from a Buck Rogers Atlantis who built the pyramids. The Novus Mirabel hero unit uses a distinctly eastern mecha and attacks using anime tropes; their jet fighter's ability Death Bloom is the superweapon from The Last Starfighter; their hackers announce themselves to be "the ghost in their machine" and ask "Would you like to play a game?" |

Universe at War: Earth Assault, begins in the year 2012 when an alien race known as the Hierarchy lands on Earth to strip-mine the planet. Before their landing, observatories and scientists on Earth gave warning of aliens but the human race, as a whole, is not able to organize a unified military front against the alien forces. Because the Hierarchy has vast military experience from invading and destroying other planets in the universe, the human race is not able to withstand their forces. When the Novus arrive on Earth, they expect humanity to be extinct and earth's surface strip-mined, in accordance with Hierarchy standard operating procedure. However, the Novus find Earth mostly intact and the human military not yet entirely wiped out. Humanity owes its continued survival to the fact that Kamal Re'x the Abductor, the overseer in charge of the Hierarchy's Earth invasion, has held back the bulk of his forces to lure the Novus into a trap. Kamal Re'x hopes to earn a promotion by wiping out the Novus expeditionary force. When the Novus arrive, Hierarchy forces are still fighting, and the Novus hope to achieve victory by engaging the vastly superior numbers of the Hierarchy in small groups. In the end, Novus proves unable to stop the Hierarchy, suffering a major defeat when the command base on Earth is destroyed, along with the portal then intended to use to return to their planet, and their leader the Founder. Khamal feels that he's beaten Novus and orders the the Hierarchy super weapon, The Purifier, which can destroy large areas of the planet in one blast, to be prepared to destroy the Earth.... etc |
