STAR WARS:
THE FORCE UNLEASHED In April 2005, after "several months" of planning, the LucasArts team received Lucas' encouragement to create a game centered on Darth Vader's secret apprentice in the largely unexplored period between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, "trying to draw the two trilogies together". LucasArts spent six months developing the story. Lucas spent hours discussing with the developers the relationship between Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine and provided feedback on what Vader would want out of and how he would motivate an apprentice. Lucas Licensing reviewed many game details to ensure they fit into canon. Focus group feedback indicated that, while hunting down Jedi at Vader's order would be fun, the character should be redeemed, in keeping with a major Star Wars motif. Although the game introduces new characters, developers felt the presence of characters already part of Star Wars would help "ground" the game within that continuity. |

 Terminator Salvation is an upcoming science fiction war film set for release on May 22, 2009. Directed by McG, it is the fourth film in the Terminator franchise and stars Christian Bale as John Connor, Sam Worthington as the cyborg Marcus Wright, Bryce Dallas Howard as Kate Connor, and Anton Yelchin as Kyle Reese, while Moon Bloodgood, Common, Helena Bonham Carter and Roland Kickinger are among the supporting cast. The film, set in 2018, focuses on the original war between humanity and the Terminator computer network Skynet. It abandons the formula of the series, which had involved Arnold Schwarzenegger as the Model 101 Terminator time-traveling to the present to protect or kill someone of future importance. Filming began on May 5, 2008. |
 Transporter 3 is a 2008 action film, and is the third installment in the Transporter film series, as well as the first not to be distributed by 20th Century Fox in the United States. Both Jason Statham and Francois Berleand will reprise their roles, as Frank Martin and Tarconi, respectively. Robert Knepper was also added to the cast list. This will be the first film in the series to be directed by Olivier Megaton. This film will continue the story of Frank Martin, a professional "transporter" who has relocated to Paris to continue his low-key business of delivering packages without questions. |
 Ong Bak 2 is the working title for a Thai martial arts film directed by and starring Tony Jaa. It will not be a direct sequel to the hugely popular Ong-Bak: Muay Thai Warrior. Early press release stated that the story will be adapted from Ai Noom Saraphad Phid, a low-budget martial arts film Jaa developed with his mentor Panna Rittikrai, but was never released because it was shot on expired film stock. The action will incorporate khon, the sacred Thai masked dance. The title roughly translates to "venomous boy" and involves a character whose dark side is dormant until he's transformed by the gracious power of khon dance. |
 Ip Man (traditional Chinese: 葉問; simplified Chinese: 叶问; pinyin: Yč Wčn; Cantonese Yale: Yip Man) is an upcoming Hong Kong martial arts biopic set for release in 2008. It is loosely based on the life of Yip Man, the martial arts master of Bruce Lee, and the first to teach the Chinese martial art of Wing Chun openly. The film will focus on events surrounding Yip that took place in Foshan between the 1930s to 1940s during the Japanese occupation of China. Directed by Wilson Yip, the film stars Donnie Yen as Yip Man and features fight choreography by Sammo Hung, who will make a cameo appearance in the film. Yip Man's two sons and several Wing Chun practitioners will also appear in the film. Ip Chun, Yip Man's eldest son served as a consultant for the film. |
 The Book of Eli is a post-apocalyptic film starring Denzel Washington and Gary Oldman and directed by the Hughes Brothers. It is set to be released on January 15, 2010. The film is financed by Alcon Entertainment, who are co-producing with Silver Pictures. According to comingsoon.net, the film "revolves around a lone warrior (Washington) who must fight to bring society the knowledge that could be the key to its redemption. Oldman has been set to portray the despot of a small makeshift town who's determined to take possession of the book Eli's guarding." |

 Star Trek is a science fiction film directed by J. J. Abrams, written by Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, and produced by Damon Lindelof and Bryan Burk. It is the eleventh Star Trek film and features the main characters of the original Star Trek series, who are portrayed by a new cast. It follows James T. Kirk (Chris Pine) enrolling at Starfleet Academy, his first meeting with Spock (Zachary Quinto), and their battles with Romulans from the future, who are interfering with history. The film is scheduled to be released on May 8, 2009 in North America and the United Kingdom. Development of the film began in 2005 when Paramount Pictures contacted Abrams, Orci and Kurtzman for ideas to revive the franchise. The creative team contrasted Orci and Lindelof, who consider themselves "Trekkies", with casual fans like Abrams, who all aimed to create a film that would interest a general audience. They wanted to be faithful to Star Trek canon, but also introduced elements of their favorite novels, modified continuity with the time travel storyline, and modernized the production design of the original show. Filming took place from November 2007 to April 2008 under intense secrecy. Midway through the shoot, Paramount chose to delay the release date from December 25, 2008 to May 2009, arguing the film would perform better in the summer. |
 Neuromancer is a 1984 novel soon to be movie by William Gibson, notable for being the most famous early cyberpunk novel and winner of the science-fiction "triple crown"—the Nebula Award, the Philip K. Mirror's Edge is a first person action-adventure video game being developed by EA Digital Illusions CE (DICE), due for world-wide release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in November 2008. A Windows version is in development, but its release has not been announced. The game was announced on July 10, 2007 and will be powered by the Unreal Engine 3 with the addition of a new lighting solution, developed by DICE. The game has a realistic, brightly-colored style and differs from most other first-person perspective video games in allowing for a wider range of actions—such as sliding under barriers, tumbling, wall-running, and shimmying across ledges—and greater freedom of movement, in having no HUD, and in allowing the legs, arms, and torso of the character to be visible on-screen. The game is set in a conformist dystopia in which communication is heavily monitored by a totalitarian regime, and so a network of runners, including the main character, Faith, are used to transmit messages while evading government surveillance. |

Resistance 2 is an alternative history first person shooter video game developed by Insomniac Games, and is to be published by SCEA, exclusively for the PlayStation 3. The game is the sequel to the best-selling PlayStation 3 launch title Resistance: Fall of Man. In Resistance 2, the Chimera have launched a full scale invasion on both the east and west coasts of the United States. Protagonist Nathan Hale joins "The Sentinels," a special task force of soldiers who are also resistant to the Chimeran virus. Hale will fight the Chimera in various locations in the United States with "The Sentinels" as he fights the Chimeran virus inside himself.
Eve Online: Quantum RiseThe Quantum Rise expansion will be released on November 11, 2008. New features include customizable storefronts helping corporations to better market their wares. A new certificate system will allow verification of a player's proficiency in certain defined groups of skills by other players and a medal system for awards by corporations. Industrial ships are being rebalanced and optimized, with addition of the Orca-class ship, "a sub-capital logistical ship with a mining command focus." The staged delivery of the expansion began with the recent implementation of new technology such as StacklessIO and EVE64 which upgraded the server hardware and streamlined communication between server and client to reduce lag. These improvements provide performance allowing for player vs. player battles with thousands of participants. Further hardware and software improvements are planned. Other planned features for the expansion include further graphics updates as started in the Trinity expansion; the ability for players to group their vessels' weapons for easier interaction; changes to autopilot routes and avoidance of player-defined solar systems.
Valkyria Chronicles, known in Japan as Battlefield Valkyria: Gallian Chronicles (戦 場のヴァルキュリア -Gallian Chronicles- Senjō no Varukyuria -Gallian Chronicles-), is a Japanese tactical role-playing game developed by Sega exclusively for the PlayStation 3 and released in Japan on April 24, 2008. Western versions were released on November 4 2008. The game is set in the fictional land of Europa in 1930, in the country of Gallia. Because of its abundance of ragnite ore—which can be refined into a powerful fuel—it has come under attack from the East European Imperial Alliance, which itself is engaged in war with the Atlantic Federation. Players take control of an uprising of Gallian nationals, dedicated to repelling the invasion. The game's visuals, which feature SEGA's CANVAS graphics engine, have received a lot of attention - with CANVAS, the game's entire graphical style is built to resemble a watercolor painting in motion.

Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 is a 2008 real-time strategy video game developed by EA Los Angeles and published by Electronic Arts. Announced on February 14th 2008, it was released on 28th October 2008 for Microsoft Windows-based PCs and three days later in Europe. A version for the Xbox 360 console is forthcoming, as is a version for PlayStation 3, though the latter has been delayed due to difficulties with the system's architecture. The game forms a part of the Red Alert sub-series within the Command and Conquer series of games. The game is set in a parallel universe in which World War II never happened and instead the Soviet Union rose to power, battling the Allies in the 1950s. In this game, the Empire of the Rising Sun rises to power as a threat as well. All three factions are playable, with the main gameplay involving constructing a base, gathering resources, and training armies comprised of land, sea, and airborne units to defeat other players. Each faction has a fully co-operative campaign, playable with an Artificial Intelligence or with another human player online. These campaigns follow a story, with specific mission objectives and unit restrictions applied. Unrestricted skirmish play against the computer and multiplayer via LAN or online is also available.
Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor is an upcoming (2009) real time strategy video game stand alone expansion pack to Company of Heroes. It was announced on 3 November 2008. Tales of Valor will include new units, additional maps and further multiplayer modes, alongside a new feature called "direct-fire". It has been announced that no new factions will be added and that the new units are new models and textures. |

 Shonen Onmyoji: The Young Spirit Master The series, set in the Heian era, Abe no Masahiro is the grandson of the great onmyōji, Abe no Seimei. Seimei, who passed his teachings on to his grandson, Masahiro who has lost his sixth sense and the ability to see spirits. Masahiro constantly feels resentful for being in his grandfather's shadow. Even so, one day, Masahiro meets a fox-like creature which he names (もっくん, Mokkun?) who shows him his true potential powers after fighting a demon.  Strait Jacket In a parallel timeline set in 1899, mankind managed to utilize magic, with it being commonly used in various industries like plantations, pharmaceuticals, military etc. However, there seems to be a "curse" as a person who overuses magic would transform into a insane monster bent on killing, referred to as a "Demon". To combat the Demons, tactical Sorcerists are used to kill the monsters, donning combat-based armor based on the "Mold suit" technology to ensure one can use magic without fear of becoming a Demon. However, a left wing terrorist group is tampering with Mold suits leading to an increase in demon attacks. Among those who fight the Demons is a rogue Sorcerist named Leiot Steinberg, who also battles against a sin he had committed long ago. |

Vile Vortices

The term Vile Vortices refer to twelve areas distributed more or less evenly around the globe that are alleged to have the same qualities as claimed for the Bermuda Triangle. Five are located on a latitude near the Tropic of Capricorn; Five on a latitude near the Tropic of Cancer; and one each at either of the Poles. Together they form the vertices of an icosahedron. The best-known Vile Vortices include the aforementioned Bermuda Triangle, as well as the Devil's Sea near Japan, and the South Atlantic Anomaly.

The existence of the Vile Vortices was first advanced by naturalist and author Ivan T. Sanderson.
These phenomena included strange sky and sea conditions, mechanical and instrument malfunctions, and mysterious disappearances.
In 1973, a Soviet science magazine published a more detailed version of the theory (Hitching, 1978). Three scientists, Nikolai Goncharov, Vyacheslav Morochov and Valery Makarov, in the article "Is the Earth a large Crystal?" in Khimya i Zhizn, posited "a matrix of cosmic energy" covering the Earth, made up of twelve pentagonal plates. The junctions of any three of these plates (62 junctions in all) had, they claimed, strange properties. For instance, several were sites of advanced prehistoric cultures, such as at Mohenjo-Daro, Egypt and Peru; and some areas had much unique wildlife, for example at Lake Baikal.

The Bermuda Triangle, also known as the Devil's Triangle, is a region of the northwestern Atlantic Ocean in which a number of aircraft and surface vessels have disappeared in what are said to be circumstances that fall beyond the boundaries of human error or acts of nature. The Devil's Sea (魔の海, Ma no Umi?) or Dragon's Triangle is a region of the Pacific around Miyake Island, about 100 km south of Tokyo. One of the triangle's corners is said to be on the island of Guam. Although the name is used by Japanese fishermen, it does not appear on nautical maps.
In popular culture, especially in the United States, the Devil's Sea is widely believed to be, together with the Bermuda Triangle, an area where ships and planes are said to disappear under mysterious circumstances. The Japanese, on the other hand, do not consider the Devil's Sea to be more mysterious or dangerous than other coastal waters of Japan.
Among the phenomena reported in the Devil's Sea are the loss of ships and planes (more than the Bermuda Triangle), numerous ghost ships, unidentified craft and USO's, missing time, and is even said to explain the disappearance of Amelia Earhart.[citation needed]

The Michigan Triangle

The Michigan Triangle is purportedly an area of Lake Michigan where unexplained phenomena have occurred.
According to Linda S. Godfrey in her book Weird Michigan, the Michigan Triangle is located over central Lake Michigan. One side stretches from the town of Ludington to Benton Harbor in Michigan; another links from Benton Harbor to Manitowoc, Wisconsin; the final side connects Manitowoc back to Ludington.
There are numerous stories of the supposed appearance of strange creatures, unexplained vanishings, time standing still, slowing to a crawl, or speeding up, or other weird happenings.

Formosa Triangle

The Formosa Triangle is a roughly 5 million square kilometer region of the Pacific between Gilbert Islands, Taiwan, and Wake Atoll, where, allegedly, ships frequently disappear under mysterious circumstances. It is supposed to have similar paranormal properties to the Bermuda Triangle. According to Muhammad Isa Dawud, it also has an increased activity of the jinni.
The name is not used by the inhabitants of the area, nor does it appear on nautical maps.

Bridgewater Triangle
The Bridgewater Triangle is area of about 200 square miles within in southeastern Massachusetts in the United States.[1] Since colonial times the area has been a site of alleged paranormal phenomenon, ranging from UFO and "black helicopter" sightings (including many with multiple points of corroboration including police and a local news team), to poltergeists and orbs, balls of fire and other spectral phenomena, various "bigfoot" sightings, giant snakes and 'thunderbirds', as well as the mutilation of cattle and other livestock.
Central to the area is the mysterious and largely untouched Hockomock Swamp, which means "the place where spirits dwell"[3], and which was called "The Devil's Swamp"[4] by early settlers. The Triangle also has been known to house several Indian burial grounds, as well as significant sites used by both natives and colonists during King Philip's War,[5] which is said by some to be the source of several curses on the nearby land.
